Cable Fly

01 /Setup

Set both pulleys at or slightly above shoulder height, take a handle in each hand and stagger the stance with a slight forward lean.

02 /Execution

Bring the hands together in front of the chest with a soft, fixed elbow angle, then let the arms travel back under control to a comfortable stretch.

03 /Key Cues
  • Keep the elbow angle constant
  • Move the hands along a wide arc
  • Keep tension at the end of the stroke
04 /Common Mistakes
  • Turning it into a press by bending and extending the elbows
  • Standing too far back and losing control at the stretch
  • Shrugging at the top
